When Multicut, back in January 2022, started working closely together with businesses within the maritime sector – little did we know that these new partnerships would give rise to an industry expansion.
The global shipping industry is currently responsible for 3 percent of the global Co2-emissions. This means that the maritime industry requires significant changes to keep up with the demands for more sustainable shipping, like the utilization of greener, alternative fuels.
At Multicut, we do what we do best and immediately saw possibilities in taking on this new industry. A lot of engineering companies that specialize in solutions for the maritime industry experience issues milling, cutting, and shaping their components on the scale required for the project at hand – all areas of manufacturing that we, at Multicut, are very familiar with. So, even though the product line and the industry were unfamiliar territories to us, the process and the quality remained the same.
It takes thousands of ship components, both visible and hidden, to construct a ship. Whether the components are engine components, valves, or larger units such as ship frames, Multicut has the abilities and skills to manufacture them.
As an example, one of our partners needed components for their Gas Valve Trains – a so-called GVT block. A GVT block is a high-pressure block system located at the heart of the ship engine, allowing ships to run on greener fuel supplies. Alternative fuels eventually empower a change in maritime sustainability which has a significant impact on the transport industry in its entirety.
With similar machining fields, we, at Multicut, are extremely excited about our current and future collaborations within this industry and even recognize an opportunity to further expand our business to new fields, located outside of our national borders.
One thing is certain, Multicut is prepared to go the distance – we don’t see obstacles, only solutions.
At Multicut, we are very much aware of our expertise, will, and ambitions, and believe that these qualities have led us to where we are today. We pride ourselves on being some of the best at machining products to fit market demands no matter the industry or extent of the project. We are positive that this mindset brings along interest from various industries – and we will never pass an opportunity to explore new industries or areas of manufacturing.
As technology evolves, so does the need for product expansion. Our production facilities are specifically designed to fit the needs of our partners. So, no matter if you have a production of a few dozen components or a serial production consisting of thousands of components, we can manufacture according to your needs with a high degree of repeatability and complexity - that's what scalability is all about.
We look forward to our future partnerships within the maritime industry. Being a global supplier of high-end machining doesn’t necessarily make us unique. Still, these new collaborations truly emphasize how we can take on any project within any industry due to our determination and will to succeed with any given task.
At Multicut, we are proud to partake in changing the maritime industry as we know it. New fuel opportunities allow ships to run on greener fuels, and by delivering the necessary components, we can empower a change in maritime sustainability.
